Every day, thousands of women become unexpectedly and unintentionally pregnant. Many of them find themselves in a difficult internal battle as they must decide between having an abortion and keeping their baby. 

The experience gained from counseling hundreds of thousands of women and families has taught us that women often feel conflicted about their pregnancy for personal reasons that are unique to their situation. However, the outcome of a crisis pregnancy is also significantly affected by societal and cultural factors. 

The most common personal reasons given for feeling conflicted about their pregnancy are: 

• Unstable relationships and being pressured by their partners 

• Feeling overwhelmed by the thought of raising a(nother) child 

• Biographical reasons ("bad timing"). 

The most significant societal and cultural influences that come into play in a crisis pregnancy are: 

• General instability and impermanence of relationships, marriages, and families, by which making commitments and assuming long-term responsibilities seem impossible, 

• A materialistic understanding of the quality and purpose of life, which is accompanied by very high material expectations for one's own life coupled with the threat of an ever-present concern about the future and existential pessimism 

• The general loss of unconditional regard for every human life – one's own and that of others. 

1000plus has made it their goal to save as many women and families facing a crisis pregnancy from abortion as possible and empower life-affirming decisions for their unborn children. 

Therefore, 1000plus's primary focus is on promoting and disseminating objective information, excellent counseling, and practical support for women facing a pregnancy crisis and their families. 

Simultaneously, 1000plus is actively engaged in establishing a culture of life: 

• 1000plus educates about the causes and outcomes of crisis pregnancies and actively advocates for the respect, protection, and promotion of marriage and family as the nucleus and foundation of a free, just, and prosperous society. 

• 1000plus promotes the formation, renewal, and expansion of the biblical view of humanity and the resulting human rights and obligation of charity. 

• 1000plus conducts campaigns and measures to renew and spread unconditional respect for every human life and its unique dignity. 

All this is only possible through the participation and collaboration of many helpers. Therefore, we consider all donors and supporters of 1000plus as members and participants in the calling to be ambassadors of the culture of life and living examples of mercy.
